On July 25, an audience of about 40 medical professionals at the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, are totally engrossed in our presentation of the GNMV’s Project Heal Haiti initiative.
Through the grace of God, we were able to meet Bill Lynch, the Administrative Director (Medical Staff),who opened up the way for us to give this 10-minute presentation. Bill also sent a mass e-mail explaining our Project Heal Haiti to about 3000 doctors, nurses and medical staff in his hospital.
Every Thursday throughout the month of August, we have permission (he granted us the permission to get our own space) to set up our Project Heal Haiti information desk, complete with Y-Banner, fliers and our view-book in the hospital’s Physician’s Lounge – a highly exclusive doctor’s only meeting place.

We had missed our initial meeting with Rubin Silvestre RN, Director (Dept. of Nursing and Patient Care Services), but after seeing the flier and viewbook we posted by his door, he willingly called us back. On Friday, July 27, two days after of first attempt, we went to Flushing Hospital expecting to meet 3 people. However, after viewing our presentation, Rubin was so impressed, he took us to to each of the hospital’s 4 floors so the other doctors, nurses and medical staff could see for themselves what Project Heal Haiti was all about. By the end of our visit, we had completed 6 presentations, received contact info for 28 interested members of staff, and an invitation to revisit them the following Monday.
On our return visit on Monday, July 30, Rubin had already gathered a group of medical personnel together, 4 of whom made up their minds to go after just two-days of hearing about our program.
Clearly, this is not our work. God prepared Rubin to open the way for us.
